In an uncertain world where the nature of work continues to change, the goals of the conference are to draw upon the insights we have gained on work disability prevention and integration (WDPI) over the past 20 years, take stock of where we are today, and look ahead to future opportunities for creating a healthier work environment.

All submission topics related to WDPI are welcome, including those related to:

  • Comparative effectiveness analysis
  • Intervention studies and program evaluation
  • Lower- and middle-income countries
  • Precarious and marginalized workers
  • Changing nature of work
  • Implications of AI and large language models
  • Determinants of work disability
  • Economics of work disability
  • Health service use in work disabled groups
  • High-risk occupations and industries
  • Long-term consequences of work disability
  • Work accommodations related to return to work and stay at work

We encourage submissions that address WDPI for a variety of health conditions (e.g., musculoskeletal disorders, mental health conditions, occupational disease), as well as those that employ diverse methodological and disciplinary approaches, including implementation studies, social policy studies, and burden studies.
