In an uncertain world where the nature of work continues to change, the goals of the conference are to draw upon the insights we have gained on work disability prevention and integration (WDPI) over the past 20 years, take stock of where we are today, and look ahead to future opportunities for creating a healthier work environment.

Oral presentations will be held in in concurrent sessions throughout the conference. Presentations will be allotted 15 minutes, with 12 minutes for the presentation and two to three minutes for audience questions, and should use slides. We strive to consider innovations across different jurisdictions, labour conditions, and treatment contexts to identity and mobilize effective solutions in preventing work disability and promoting work integration for all workers. All submission topics related to WDPI were welcome, including those related to:
- Cross-jurisdictional comparison
- Comparative effectiveness analysis
- Intervention studies and program evaluation
- Lower- and middle-income countries
- Precarious and marginalized workers
- Changing nature of work
- Implications of AI and large language models
- Determinants of work disability
- Economics of work disability
- Health service use in work disabled groups
- High-risk occupations and industries
- Long-term consequences of work disability
- Work accommodations related to return to work and stay at work
We encouraged submissions that addressed WDPI for a variety of health conditions (e.g., musculoskeletal disorders, mental health conditions, occupational disease), as well as those that employed diverse methodological and disciplinary approaches, including implementation studies, social policy studies, and burden studies.
