Welcome to WDPI 2026

7th International Work Disability Prevention and Integration (WDPI) Conference: Reflecting on the Past, Learning from the Present, Adapting to the Future

Welcome to Vancouver, Canada and the stunning University of British Columbia campus for the 7th International Work Disability Prevention and Integration (WDPI) Conference.

In an uncertain world where the nature of work continues to change, the goals of the conference are to draw upon the insights we have gained on work disability prevention and integration (WDPI) over the past 20 years, take stock of where we are today, and look ahead to future opportunities for creating a healthier work environment.

The Scientific Program Committee and Organizing Committee welcome the over 200 researchers, trainees, practitioners and policymakers who will learn about and apply new knowledge that will promote work disability prevention and management and support healthy working lives.

The program features a keynote lecture from Dr. Monique Gignac, Scientific Director and Senior Scientist, Institute for Work & Health, Canada, eight symposia, four workshops, 22 oral presentation sessions, and two poster sessions. Ample opportunity to network is provided via an opening reception at the Museum of Anthropology, a banquet, and a student and early career researcher event.

The International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) Scientific Committee on Work Disability Prevention and Integration (WDPI) was established in 2006. The primary function of the Committee has been to host and organize a biennial international conference focusing on the scientific study and practice of work disability prevention. Conferences have been held in Angers, France (2010), Groningen, The Netherlands (2012), Toronto, Canada (2014), Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2016), Odense, Denmark (2019), and Bengalaru, India (2023).

Welcome to Vancouver!
